MEGA BEMAX AND HAJDUK PLAYED IN KULA FOR LAZAR ZARUBICA

Basketball club Mega Bemax played a humanitarian basketball game “For Lazar To Wake Up” on Wednesday in Kula with domestic Hajduk. Elementary school hall “Petefi brigada”  in Kula was too small to accept all with the good will who came to support this humanitarian action, and despite many fine moves, the result was in the second plan. In the end, Mega won with 59:120 and all the collected funds were donated for the treatment of the young Lazar Zarubica.

Lazar Zarubica is a second-grade secondary school student who had postoperative complications in his chest surgery in May last year and was diagnosed with heart and leg thrombosis. In November, a nine-hour emergency cardiac surgery followed, where he was placed in a severe general condition in an intensive care unit, where there was a heart failure. After surgery, Lazar fell into a coma from which he had not yet awakened.

At the half-time break, spectators from the audience, as well as young basketball players, were shot to the basket and each hit was worth 1,000 dinars donated for the action “For Lazar To Wake Up”. Boxes for charity donations were also placed in the hall, and all the funds collected will go to help Lazar’s departure to Germany to a specialized clinic for the rehabilitation of patients in a coma.

After the end of the match, players of Mega continued socializing with children in the hall, with taking photos and giving autographs.

Besides KK Mega Bemax and KK Hajduk Kula, the complete action was supported by Mercator, Roda, Idea, Triglav Osiguranje and Podravka.
