VLADA VUKOICIC HEAD OF YOUTH SELECTIONS OF MEGA LEKS

Basketball Club Mega Leks got a big boost since the head of the youth selections in the next 3 years will be Vlada Vukoicic, who will take care of all the youth categories of the club. In this way, Vukoicic will return to the club in which he was a coach in the period from 2010 to 2012.

The new head of the youth selections of Mega Leks pointed out that he is happy because of following challenges:

“It is my pleasure and honor that I got a call to take care of the younger selections in a very well organized club where the most attention is paid to work with young players. Mega has become first regional and then i can say, global brand in working with young players, their development, providing opportunities and maturing. Certainly it is a serious challenge but also an opportunity that through education, tactical and technical work in training, work on the creation of new aces. There is great potential in this young basketball players coming not only from the country but also from the region and beyond. It will be bittersweet, and a major challenge in the work and I hope to the new success of the club that is growing every day”,

said Vukoicic.

Vlada Vukoičić was born on June 2nd, 1973 in Belgrade. In the place of head coach debuted in 2005. in FMP where he stayed for 3 years and with whom he won the Adriatic League in 2006 and Korac Cup in 2007 and the club has reached the semifinals of the ULEB Cup. After that, he was the coach of Hemofarm, briefly Oostende in Belgium and then in Bosnia with whom he won the cup. In 2010 he came to the place of head coach of Mega and in 2012 becomes coach of Crvena zvezda, with whom he won in 2013 Korac Cup. After that, he was a coach in MZT, the Lebanese team Tadamon and Bulgarian Balkan from Botevgrad.

With the junior national team of Serbia in 2007 he won a gold medal at the European Championships.

Youth teams of Mega Leks had outstanding last season and before them is certainly still brighter future. Cadets of Mega became champions Serbia, juniors have won the third place in the country and for the first time, have qualified for the finals tournament of the junior Euroleague, which was held in Berlin while the pioneers in the first year of the selection in the club, became vice-champions of Serbia.
