Special guest of Mega Leks at the match against Borac was a Nikola Jokic, former player of Mega and now a member of NBA team Denver Nuggets. Jokic was the first player in the history of Mega Leks who directly from the club went to the NBA and after a great season, was selected in the best “rookie” team in the strongest league of the world.

Before the start of the season in a friendly match against the champion of Turkey Karsiyaka, officially was withdrawn Nikola Jokic jersey with the number 15 and the match against Borac was the first to whom it Nikola attended since going to the NBA. On that occasion, on behalf of the Club, Director Goran Cakic presented gift to Jokic, photo book with pictures of Jokic during play for Mega Leks.


Nikola Jokic was enthusiastic with the gesture of his former and was extremely happy:

“This is a great honor for me and I would like to thank the club for the gift that will always have a special place in my house. I’m glad I came back to the hall that evokes fond memories. I was proud when I saw my jersey with number 15 in the hall. I had great support from the coach Dejan Milojevic, coaching staff, my teammates and the people at the club and I’m glad that I justifed the trust and opportunity. I spent in Mega unforgettable moments and I will always be happy to return here”.

Jokic during the season followed results of Mega:

“I’m glad that this is the best year in the history of the club. I followed matches whenever I could and I was very happy after winning the Cup and advances to the finals of the ABA league. This is just further confirmation of the excellent work in the club that every day grows”.

Nikola Jokic was recently elected to the best NBA “rookie” team:

“I am very pleased with the season in Denver, my progress and selection to the best five rookies. I tried throughout the year to better represent Mega and Serbian basketball in the NBA and I hope I succeeded. Now Mega is a known name in NBA league and I believe that after the upcoming draft, will have their new representatives in the strongest league in the world”,

Jokic said.
