U18 MEGA MIS WON THE JUNIOR EUROLEAGUE QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT AND WILL DEFEND THE TITLE IN KAUNAS

The U18 Mega MIS, after a great fight, defeated Crvena Zvezda in the final of the qualifying ANGT tournament of the Euroleague, and will defend the title won last year in Kaunas at the final tournament, 79:80 (23:18, 14:24, 19:18, 16: 12, 7:8). There was a big fight in the Basket City hall, and even 40 minutes was not enough to determine the winner, since Nikola Topić hit just one of two free throws with a second and a half to go. In the additional five minutes, it was very intense, the teams took turns in the lead, and then Danilo Dožić, after offensive rebound, scored points for the advantage of Mega with six seconds to go. Zvezda tried to respond, but Andrej Lučić’s shot remained on the rim, and celebration of the selected Dragoljub Avramović began.

As a reminder, Mega MIS defeated Venice, Anadolu Efes and INSEP in the group stage and finally won the tournament with a triumph over Crvena Zvezda. This was the 36th match of Avramović’s juniors since September 1 last year and the 36th victory! Only in the Roda Junior League they have a maximum of 20-0, and now they have confirmed their quality at the qualifying ANGT.

In the end, Filip Jović was the best scorer in the Mega team with 15 points, but the young center suffered an injury in the middle of the third period and did not return to the floor until the end of the match. Without a player who was included in the top five of the tournament for his great games at ANGT, Mega played an uncertain ending and managed to celebrate.

Andrej Mušicki played a great match and recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists, and he was only two steals short of a triple-double. He was the most valuable player of the final with a PIR of 24.

Asim Đulović scored in double figures in the winning team with 11, as well as Bogoljub Marković and Urban Kroflič with 10 points each.

Mega MIS: Šipčić, Gačić, Savanović 8, Đulović 11, Marković 10, Mušicki 11 (10 as, 8 uk, 24 in), Kroflič 10, Dožić 9, Srzentić, Jović 15, Sibi, Milosavčević 6
