MEGA SUPERBET TO FACE NCAA CHAMPION MICHIGAN IN HERCEG NOVI

Mega Superbet will play another preseason game against a renowned American college on Thursday at 8:00 PM. At the Igalo Sports Center in Herceg Novi, Mega will face the reigning NCAA champion, the University of Michigan. Admission to the game will be free.

Head coach Vule Avdalović has taken 12 players on the trip: Lukas Maniema, Mihailo Bošković, Andrej Mušicki, Aleksandar Vojinović, Tarik Hrelja, Milan Šuput, Pavle Bačko, Ognjen Nikolić, Uroš Šuput, Ognjen Srzentić, Luka Paunov and Andrej Lučić.

“We have a game ahead of us against a very high-quality opponent. Michigan is the reigning NCAA champion and a team full of talented players who are physically strong and possess excellent individual qualities. I expect a high-intensity game, with a lot of running, aggressive defense and one-on-one situations, which are characteristic of American college teams. This is a good opportunity for us to see where we stand at this stage of our preparations. We have a young team, so games like this provide us with valuable experience. I want to see a good approach, aggressiveness on defense, control of the tempo and smart decisions on offense. It is important that we play our basketball, remain disciplined and fight for all 40 minutes. Regardless of the result, our goal is to learn as much as possible and continue building chemistry within the team,” said Mega Superbet head coach Vule Avdalović.

This will not be the first meeting between the two teams during the summer preparations. In August 2018, in Sant Julià de Vilatorta, Spain, Mega defeated Michigan 81–73. Interestingly, Mega’s current head coach, Vule Avdalović, was a member of the coaching staff at the time, when the team was led by Dejan Milojević.

Mega Superbet has already played two games against Auburn University in Mykonos this summer, recording one win and one loss. In previous years, Mega has also faced Virginia, Texas Tech, Kentucky and Indiana during its summer preparations.
